Ashtanga Video Course

Build the foundations of a powerful daily yoga routine

This is the introduction course to the Ashtanga yoga method. The primary series consists of a set sequence of 72 postures, also called the healing sequence.


Ashtanga yoga can be seen as the mother of power yoga and Vinyasa yoga. The lineage leads back to the South Indian city of Mysore. When practiced in the traditional way, often referred to as Mysore style Ashtanga; a student will blend all 8 (ashtau) limbs (anga) as described in the ancient yoga philosophy text called the Yoga Sutra’s written by sage Patanjali.


It is a complete practice; physically, mentally and spiritually and each limb will open its arms for you whenever you are ready if you practice consistently.

 

During this 6 week video course Tara takes you step by step through the basics of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa method; you’ll learn how to move from pose to pose on your own breath, with focus resulting in an energising moving meditation.

Course details:

Each week starts with a workshop style video with clear explanation of the new set of asana’s. You’ll slowly build towards the full standing sequence, also called the fundamental poses of Ashtanga. You become a member of a world wide community of Ashtangi in my app where you can directly interact with me and other students to stay motivated, support and educate one another. You are required to practice at least every other day, but preferably 5 days a week to consolidate a sustainable self-practice. A video with a guided class is provided to help you get into the routine.
